Why I keep my voicemail full

For the last 12 months, I haven’t received a single voicemail.

Why?

Because my voicemailbox is full.

Even with my voicemail response stating to not leave a voicemail and to text me, I still get messages (daily) from people informing me that my voicemail is full. Thanks, I’m aware.

It all started when my voicemail got full the first time. Filled up with sweet messages from my close family members and friends. I treasured them and didn’t want to delete them. Some time passed and after several reminders from my husband about how I could remove the voice memos from my phone and store them to free up space, I realized that I didn’t want to.

I really enjoyed the peace that having zero new voicemails brought to me.

I dreaded every single little red notification that dinged when someone left me a voicemail. Call it stress, call it anxiety, whatever, but I didn’t like them. I would be aware of that little red number until I listened.

Anxiety has always been present in my world, but I hadn’t realized what a choke hold such a simple thing as a voicemail had on my work stress level until it disappeared.

To this day it remains full and I am no longer accepting voicemails.

Protect your peace.

What is one thing you dread in your business? How can you make a small, simple change for the better?
