Why I Work on Holiday Mondays

Hey hey!

It’s Memorial Day Weekend 2023 and I’m…. working.

I’m working because I genuinely want to be.

I prefer working these Holiday Mondays when the world tends to be offline.

Here’s why.

#1. I don’t get distracted by incoming emails or phone calls.

I get to focus on creative time or on projects that have been swept aside to handle more pressing needs during my typical workweek.

#2. I don’t get paid time off. (Yes, drawbacks exist to being an entrepreneur!)

The trails are BUSY as heck today and the roads to get there and back to town are jam-packed. I would much rather take off next Friday for a long weekend than today. One time when I was living in Seattle, my husband and I made the mistake of driving through Snoqualmie Pass on Memorial Day. What should have been a 2.5 drive was 5.5. Yikes.

#3. I really enjoy working on Mondays.

I can usually get a solid 10hr workday in without having to stretch myself. I am productive and creative on Mondays. I pair this energy with my favorite workout class to wrap up my work day and I gotta tell you, this is one of the best “workflows” that exist inside my business. I personally believe a workflow can be anything you want it to be. Stop letting people put you into a box. Create your own description for what works for you in YOUR business and know that I’m right here with you!

Ultimately, every entrepreneur discovers what works best for them. Sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error. Take a page from my book and see if this works for you too.
