4 Marketing Mistakes Small Businesses Make
Hi, friend!
It’s been a long work day filled with lots of frustrating moments. My hands are sore from typing and writing but I have juuuust enough energy to share my first blog of 2023! #smallwins
Let’s talk about mistakes I see small businesses make in their marketing… I’ve seen all 4 today. Yes, it’s been a day. But they really are that common!
Not removing “sent by Mailchimp” or “Powered by Constant Contact” at the bottom of your marketing emails. Did you know this is a setting that can be turned off? And it doesn’t cost another penny! Sigh. Please remove it. Go and do it right now - I’ll wait :)
2. Creating content for one platform and not repurposing it. If you’ve spent money or time (or both!) on writing content, be sure to optimize it and repurpose it as much as you can.
3. Having outdated images: headshot, cover images, and website banners. If it’s been more than 5 years (and that’s being generous!) it’s time for an update.
4. Using a generic Gmail address. Splurge the $7/mo for a custom domain email. It looks more professional and if you use G-Suite it operates the same as a Gmail account without having it end in @gmail.com
I will probably add to this list over time, but for now dinner is calling! What update will you make for your business this week?
