4 Themes from Traffic & Conversion Summit

What if I told you I went to Las Vegas and didn’t spend even $1 drinking or gambling 😳

An anomaly for Sin City, right?

Possibly.

Last week I attended Traffic & Conversion Summit 2024 in Las Vegas. It was an amazing conference with back-to-back sessions for three full days relating to marketing, SEO, AI, and more.

Below are four of my big takeaways from attending this conference and what I plan to implement (and already have!) for my clients in 2024.

#1 - AI will permeate everything

There aren’t many restrictions for disclosures and legal parameters surrounding a company’s use of AI, but there will be. Pay attention. Figure out how to use it in your business and prepare for big shifts coming as a result of AI.

#2 - Own your audience

This concept is not new to me, but it stood out as a key takeaway because of how many sessions used this theme. Your followers on Instagram and Facebook are owned by Meta. Your email list? You own that. Owning your audience is as important as owning your business. Consistently work on your strategy to grow your list into subscribers and paid customers.

#3 - Improving retention rates is essential

When you lose membership or recurring revenue clients, you don’t just lose a month or two of revenue from them, you lose a large percentage of what would have been their customer lifetime value. Increasing your membership retention rates by even 1% can make a big difference for your bottom line. How do you do this? Focus on community. How can you build, foster, engage, and serve your community? In a membership model, do you continue to listen to your members’ problems, questions, needs, and desires? Your contribution doesn’t end when you make the sale.

#4 - Get back to the basics

Even with AI changing everything, the basics still work. People crave authenticity and a sense of normalcy. Be consistent. Adhere to your minimum standards and Core Values.

With over 10 pages of notes, I’m excited to continue implementing what I learned last week. I’m grateful for the connections I made, the business advice I received, and for being in a place where people could speak my language.

So, no, I didn’t drink or gamble, but I certainly had a great trip and happened to have the best Gluten Free pizza of my lifeeee… if you happen to be GF too and plan to visit Vegas (very niche I know), drop a comment and I’ll share the name of the restaurant with you!

Thanks for reading.
